Most domestic student organizations have approached the government with a proposal to allocate about UAH 526 million for the next year for preferential mortgage lending. The relevant information was provided by the leaders of the nine largest student organizations, who asked to finalize the state budget for the next 2013 in order to provide for the allocation of about 526 million hryvnias to provide preferential long-term loans for the young population in accordance with the State Youth Program housing loans until 2017.
Such an appeal was also sent to the President of Ukraine. As representatives of student organizations note, it is preferential youth lending programs that are the most popular among the young population of the country.
At the same time, in accordance with the available information, the said bill provides only UAH 60 million for financing in accordance with the program for concessional long-term lending. These funds are intended both for the purchase of housing, as well as for its construction. This corresponds to only 10 percent of the total housing needs of youth. Such actions by the Ukrainian government caused quite serious concerns among representatives of youth organizations. The state program for preferential lending in the period up to 2017 provides for the allocation of about 600 million hryvnia for the corresponding financing. Thus, the state plans to provide housing for about 16 thousand Ukrainian young families.
