As part of the meeting, which was held in the Ministry of Regional Development under the direct supervision of the Deputy Minister for Regional Development and Construction, Dmitry Isaenko, a discussion took place on new ways to quickly solve the problem related to the organization of railway communication between the central station and the international airport “Borispol”.
Isaenko noted: at the moment there are prospects for reducing the project implementation time, which, according to preliminary estimates, is more than 2 years. Now a thorough study and analysis of design solutions is being carried out for the subsequent minimization of the cost of the project.
The management is considering the feasibility of a complete replacement of technical solutions regarding the construction of the underground part of the tunnel, as well as the terminal, which is supposed to be located near Terminal D. It also provides equipment with a protected screened mesh.
Specialists are studying the issue of replacing the construction of a four-story railway terminal with an additional tunnel for receiving passengers near Terminal D, with a new two-story complex.
Through these solutions, it is possible to significantly reduce the time for the implementation of the entire project by air express, thereby saving on construction can be about 20 percent.
