Activ Solar is a renowned international group of companies headquartered in Vienna. These firms are engaged in the development and production of solar technologies: silicon products, photovoltaic solar parks.
A subsidiary of PJSC “Semiconductor Plant” of this group is located in Zaporozhye. The plant started operating in 1964.
Activ Solar completed the construction of Omao Solar, a solar power plant with a capacity of 20 megawatts. This object is located in the Saksky district in the Crimea. Omao Solar recently launched.
However, this facility is only a part of the entire Okhotnikovo project, which is one of the largest PV installations in the world.
Previously, a solar power plant with a capacity of 7.5 megawatts, also located in the Crimea in the village of Rodnikovoe, has already been built and launched.
The construction of such stations on the territory of Crimea is explained by the fact that the south of the country is characterized by a shortage of solar energy. Therefore, such a project is very beneficial for the autonomous republic.
“Omao Solar” consists of crystalline solar modules, which are located on an area of 40 hectares. This plant will produce approximately 25,000 megawatts per hour of clean electricity per year. Such power generation will be able to meet the electrical needs of 5,000 homes and reduce air emissions by up to 20,000 tons.
About 400 people are involved in the construction of the second facility. This project will be presented by this company in Munich at the Intersolar exhibition.
